This book described the history of an open air classical music program, using a desert canyon in the vicinity of Riyadh as a concert hall, during the years 1989-1992. I recount happenings surrounding these events which were enjoyed by many hundreds of expats as well as many members of the "Desert Shield" allied soldiers before the first Gulf War. Religious fundamentalists and associated vigilantes eventually succeeded in forcing Saudi authorities to ask that these concerts be terminated. Names and identities of those who participated in the organization of these wonderful concerts have been obscured or changed.
